FAQs
The COVID test is billed through the individual’s medical insurance, except for testing performed for travel. We recommend contacting your insurance provider for a determination of coverage. It is the patients’ responsibility to be aware of their personal (or dependent’s) coverage. Testing for travel is self-pay only.
We perform the RT-PCR COVID test.
We test samples using a real-time, reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) instrument, which is considered the gold-standard of COVID-19 testing. The RT-PCR test is the most accurate and sensitive test available. Patient results are typically available the same day.
An appointment is required to be tested for Covid-19. Upon arrival, please stay in your car and text 617-906-1221 letting us know you have arrived. We will provide further instructions. All patient information will be collected, and the testing staff will be available to assist you through each step of the testing process.
Patients can be tested for Covid-19 who are symptomatic, have had known exposure, or are in need of screening for travel, work requirements, or peace of mind. If you are using insurance, please verify your COVID testing coverage with them prior to being tested.
If you suspect that you are infected with the virus that causes COVID-19, contact your doctor immediately. Your doctor’s office can fax the test order for SARS-CoV-2 testing at (781)-352-0066.
Insurance card and proof of identity are required. Be sure to have your mobile phone in case we need to reach you.
If you are covered by insurance, there is no out-of-pocket cost to be tested. If you do not have insurance, you will have to bear the cost of the test as the federal program for the Uninsured will no longer be accepting claims.
Self-pay cost for Covid test is $200. Covid test for travel is not billed through insurance.
Generally speaking, insurance will cover the cost to be COVID tested if you are symptomatic. However, it is best to check with your insurance company to be aware of any stipulations in regard to covering your COVID test.

Should you test positive for COVID-19, please contact your Primary Care Provider (PCP) for further instructions. You may also reference the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Massachusetts Department of Health websites for the up-to-date recommendation for quarantine and other guidelines. All results are sent to the Massachusetts Department of Health, and representatives will follow up with you in the event the result is POSITIVE.
